Getting Started
Everything you need to know to get up and running with SixGrid.
SixGrid is project management built specifically for Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement teams. It helps you structure DMAIC projects, track metrics, manage financials, and keep your team aligned — all in one place.
Sample Project
Every new SixGrid account comes with a sample DMAIC project — "Reduce Customer Support Response Time." It's a fully populated project with a completed charter, primary and secondary metrics, milestones with to-dos (many with notes showing realistic work product), financial estimates, project notes, and a full project team. The project is mid-way through the Analyze phase, so you can see what a real project looks like at various stages of completion.
The sample project demonstrates:
- How to write a problem statement and goal statement in the charter
- How primary and secondary metrics work together (response time as the primary Y metric, customer satisfaction as the secondary to watch for unintended consequences)
- How to use to-do notes to capture work product — what you did, what you found, what you decided
- How project notes capture bigger-picture learnings and team updates
- How milestones progress through DMAIC phases with tollgate reviews
- How financials track estimated benefits and costs
Explore it to understand the tool, then create your own project when you're ready.
Welcome Card
When you first log in, you'll see a Welcome to SixGrid card at the top of your Dashboard with a link to the sample project.
- Owners and Admins see two buttons: "Explore sample project" and "Create your first project"
- Invited users (Users, Managers, Executives) see "Explore sample project" with a note that their real assignments will appear as their team adds them to projects
You can dismiss the welcome card anytime by clicking the × button. Once dismissed, it won't come back.
Beta Program
SixGrid is currently in Beta. During this period:
- Every account gets full Teams plan access — unlimited projects, unlimited users, groups, all roles, custom logo, reports. Everything is unlocked.
- It's free. No credit card, no payment, no trial timer. You have full access for the duration of Beta.
- We want your feedback. We're looking for honest input from Lean Six Sigma practitioners at all levels — what works, what doesn't, what's missing.
When Beta ends, accounts will move to the Free plan. Your data is preserved — projects, milestones, todos, files, team members all stay. You'll be prompted to choose a paid plan (Professional or Teams) to continue using features beyond the Free plan limits. Nothing gets deleted.
Beta Feedback
During the Beta, a floating Beta Feedback button appears in the bottom-right corner of every page. Click it to open a quick feedback form.
- Type your feedback in the text area — what you like, what could be better, feature requests, bug reports, anything
- Click Send Feedback — your message is sent directly to the SixGrid team
- Your name, email, and organization are included automatically so we can follow up if needed
- You can submit feedback as many times as you want from any page
The feedback button will be removed when the Beta period ends.
Legal Agreements
SixGrid's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are available on the SixGrid website:
- Terms of Service — sixgrid.com/terms
- Privacy Policy — sixgrid.com/privacy
These agreements govern your use of the Service. By creating a SixGrid account, you agree to both documents. The signup form includes a legal acceptance checkbox that records your consent.
Your Data Is Yours
SixGrid is built for Lean Six Sigma practitioners who manage sensitive project data — process improvement details, financial figures, operational metrics, and organizational information. We take data ownership and privacy seriously:
- You own your data. All project data you upload, create, or process through SixGrid belongs to you. We claim no ownership rights over your content.
- We treat your data as confidential. Company personnel will not access your project data except to provide the Service, respond to your support requests, resolve system errors, investigate security issues, or comply with legal requirements.
- We don't sell your data. We do not sell, rent, or provide your data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or their own purposes.
- You can export your data. You can export your project data at any time while your account is active.
- You can delete your data. If you request account deletion, your data is permanently removed from active systems within 30 days and from backups within 60 days.
For full details, read the Privacy Policy.

Authentication
Signing In and Signing Up
When you visit SixGrid, you'll be directed to the Sign In page if you're not already logged in. If you don't have an account yet, click the link to go to the Sign Up page and create one.
SixGrid supports three ways to sign in:
- Email and password — Create an account with any email address.
- Google — Sign in with your Google account (personal or Google Workspace).
- LinkedIn — Sign in with your LinkedIn account.
All three options appear on both the Sign In and Sign Up pages. If you sign up with Google or LinkedIn, your account is automatically created using the name and email from that provider.
During sign-up, you'll be asked to accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy via a checkbox. This acceptance is recorded and is required to create an account.
Route Protection
All pages in SixGrid require you to be signed in. The only pages you can access without logging in are the Sign In and Sign Up pages. If your session expires while using the app, you'll be automatically redirected back to the Sign In page.
Sign-in on New Devices
When you sign in from a new device or browser for the first time, you may be asked to verify your identity via a code sent to your email. This is a security feature that ensures only you can access your account from unfamiliar devices. After verifying once on a device, subsequent sign-ins won't require the code.
Account Sync
After you sign in, SixGrid automatically syncs your account with the backend server. This sets up your user profile and organization membership so the app knows who you are and what organization you belong to. You'll see a brief loading spinner while this happens.
Inviting People
Owners, Admins, and Managers can invite new people from the All People page. See Inviting People under Roles & Permissions for full details on the invite form, role and group selection, and manager restrictions.
Your Profile
At the bottom of the left sidebar, you'll see your profile avatar, name, and organization name. Click your avatar to access profile settings, manage your account, or sign out.
